The positive aspect of relying more on intellect than emotion is that there is more of a chance that the choice made will not take a bad turn or backfire because it was not thought through properly or based on something substantial. An example of someone who uses intellect rather than emotion is a parent. Some parents dicipline their children when they have done something wrong. Even though parents do not like to see their children hurt, they still take the required measure to make sure they understand what they did wrong. This is because parents know that if they do not dicipline their child, the child will not learn. The negative consequence of relying more on intellect than emotion is that sometimes we end up hurting others. Some people that are examples of this are missionaries. They go to other countries where there is poverty and even though intellect would tell them that it is better that they stay in a safe, healthy, comfortable environment, they rely on their emotions and go help others. If missionaries did not choose to rely on the sympathy they feel for others, those who need help would never recieve it.

Everyone needs a friend
Nobody really wants to go through life without a companion. Some may deny the fact that they need a friend, but deep down, everyone wants someone to share life with. One of the reasons that we need companions is so that when we have to make a decision and we cannot figure out what exactly we want or need to choose, we have someone who understands us and can give us advice. A good friend's advice can make the difference between a good and bad life.
Another reason why a companion is important, is so that when life gets tough, there is someone to lean on. No matter how tough we think we are, I do not believe that anyone can get through the trials of life without help. When we need to talk or cry or both, companions are the ones that are there for us. When things like anger and sadness get bottled up inside, they can cause us to hurt ourselves and/or others, but when we let them out by talking to someone, it can lead us away from bad decisions.
The last reason why companions are needed is so that they can be encouragers. When something is going on or when we are not to happy to do something or make a decision, companions are there to encourage us and help us. With companions, we can reach goals we never thought we could reach. Companions just make life easier to get through.

Describe in a blog a situation in which a person might feel he or she has been repeatedly rejected by others. What emotional response might the person have? Give at least 3 solid paragraphs that establish a scenario and clearly analyze the emotional response.
I believe that every human being wants to be accepted by others. I think that peer acceptance is one of the reasons why so many people choose to do things that are dangerous to themselves and other around them. There is not an age limit to wanting to feel accepted and there is also no age limit to rejection. The world is full with rejection. From school to a workplace, rejection cannot be avoided.
For example, in a school, a child can feel rejected when he/she is picked last to be on a team during gym class. This can stir up feelings of not being good enough. Many children will react in different ways. A child may become withdrawn and not talk to many people or anyone at all. Rejection can also cause more serious problems like eating disorders or self harm if the child feels like there is something wrong with him/her.
Some problems may not show up right away, or may not be noticed by others. For example, someone can feel like they have to work harder to be accepted or become someone they are not and over time, they can become insecure and feel like they always have to be perfect. Rejection can also stir up a lot of anger; a person can feel like they need to get revenge. Most cases of school shootings occurred because the shooter was bullied or in other words, felt rejected. Rejection can lead to pain and suffering in more than one person.
